Nov 26, 2026 — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This event is open only to the students and the faculty members of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs
Event Description
Speaker: Sheri Meyerhoffer
Moderator: Patrick Leblond
Canada’s approach to responsible business conduct is undergoing significant change. Sheri Meyerhoffer, Canada’s first Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise (CORE) and a Visiting Professor at GSPIA, will lead a discussion examining Canada’s evolving framework—from voluntary standards, diplomatic support and the National Contact Point to the closure of the CORE, supply-chain transparency requirements, the new forced-labour import ban, emerging due-diligence proposals, and RBC provisions in trade agreements. Patrick Leblond will moderate the session and discussion. Together, we will consider how these different elements fit together—and whether they amount to a coherent and effective approach.
