Event Description

Learn more about the Parliamentary Internship Programme (PIP) and how to apply for the 2026-2027 cohort. Join us for an information session featuring insights and advice from Angelica Kalubiaka, former PIP intern (2021–2022), and Dr. Paul E.J. Thomas, Director of the PIP (2020–present).

The Parliamentary Internship Programme (PIP) is Canada’s premier non-partisan legislative internship. Established in 1969 through a motion supported by all federal political parties, this prestigious program selects 12 interns each year from across the country to work in the House of Commons from September to June. Each intern works with one Member of Parliament from the governing party and one from the opposition. Interns receive a minimum $35,000 CAD scholarship over 10 months, a graduate certificate in Public Administration from the University of Ottawa. The internship also includes legislative study tours to Brussels, the United Kingdom, Washington D.C., Nunavut, Ontario, and Quebec.
