Speaker: Philippe Zittoun

Research Director in Political Science at LAET-ENTPE Laboratory (University of Lyon)

Secretary General of the International Public Policy Association (IPPA)

Co-editor of the International Series on Public Policy (Palgrave Macmillan)

Chair of the Research Committee “Public Policy and Administration” of the Association

About the Speaker:
Philippe Zittoun focuses on the dynamics of public policy-making, with a particular interest in knowledge production and argumentative struggles within various arenas of debate. He has developed a pragmatic approach to public policy to better understand how power and meaning intertwine across multiple politico-administrative spaces. His work pays special attention to the political dimension of public policies—specifically, how problem definition and solution formulation constitute major ontologically political activities.

Discussion following the conference will be in French and English
