As my internship comes to an end, I must say that this experience has been incredibly rewarding. I had the opportunity to participate in multiple events that, as a young intern, I never imagined I would attend.

I also had the chance to meet a diverse range of individuals from around the world, allowing me to learn more about the common challenges we all face and strive to overcome. This experience also gave me deeper insight into the history of my host country, Trinidad and Tobago. Additionally, I developed numerous skills that will undoubtedly be useful in the future. Above all, what made this experience truly enriching was the people I had the privilege to work with. Despite differences in time zones, schedules, and locations, we were able to establish meaningful connections that helped me acquire new knowledge, expand my professional network, and develop essential skills.

An internship is truly a space where communication, organization, time management, and adaptability are essential—and often tested. In fact, most tasks were assigned on a day-to-day basis and sometimes required working very independently, demanding a strong work ethic. One key strategy that benefited me greatly was staying in constant contact with the organization’s team. This not only showed that I was eager to take on work but also demonstrated my enthusiasm for being part of their group. Additionally, don't hesitate to reach out through emails or calls if you need clarification—they are truly there to support you.

Ultimately, I am incredibly grateful to have been part of the WINAD team and to have taken on this experience. I started feeling uncertain and somewhat out of my element, but I am leaving with hands full of new knowledge and skills.
