Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI)
Association for the Development and Integration of Rural Youth (ADIJR)
This three-month placement with CECI has been an excellent way to conclude my undergraduate studies!
Over the past three months, I had the opportunity to work with ADIJR, a community development association based in Manga, Burkina Faso. The organization’s primary mission is to combat rural poverty and strengthen the capacities of rural stakeholders—particularly youth and women—by prioritizing entrepreneurship. ADIJR operates in several key areas, including economic empowerment for youth and women, climate resilience, community health, inclusive and quality education, human rights, decentralization, and local governance.
My work focused specifically on the economic empowerment of youth and women. I contributed by creating a guide for establishing a business network, developing marketing targeting tools, and providing training on a technological management tool. As an international development student, these were areas where I had limited experience, making this internship a truly enriching learning opportunity.
Despite the challenges of working remotely and not having the chance to be on the ground, these three months have been incredibly valuable. I highly encourage other students to take advantage of this opportunity!
