uOttawa's 2025 Model United Nations Delegation
A team of students from the Faculty of Social Sciences proudly represented Czechia at the 2025 National Model United Nations (NMUN) Conference in New York City—one of the largest and most prestigious simulations of the United Nations in the world.

Throughout the five-day simulation, students engaged in complex debates on global issues, advanced the foreign policy positions of Czechia, and collaborated with peers from around the world. Their hard work and diplomatic skills earned them the Distinguished Delegation Award, recognizing their performance across several committees including the UNHCR and the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.

The award also highlighted the team’s outstanding position papers submitted to the General Assembly Third Committee (GA3) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

The NMUN course (FSS 3295), offered every winter semester, is open to all students interested in international affairs, diplomacy, and the United Nations system. It combines in-class preparation with a real-world experience in multilateral negotiations.
