Biography

Graeme Clark dedicated most of his foreign service career to serving Canada’s interests in the Americas. As: 2nd Secretary at the Embassy in San José, Costa Rica, covering Nicaragua, Honduras and Panama; Ambassador to Peru and Bolivia; Director of Mexico and North America at HQ; Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States; and, most recently, Ambassador to Mexico.

Other assignments included: Legislative/Departmental Assistant to two Ministers of Foreign Affairs; Legislative Assistant to Prime Minister Jean Chrétien; Director General Assignments and Assistant Deputy Minister of Human Resources at Global Affairs; and Minister, Deputy Head of Mission at our Embassy in Paris.

A graduate of the Universities of Toronto and Oxford, Graeme was a Parliamentary Intern and served as Legislative Assistant to various MPs prior to joining the Foreign Service. He is a recipient of the Gran Cruz, Orden del Sol del Peru; and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
