The Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation and the Library are delighted to invite the uOttawa community to celebrate the work of the 2026 Open Scholarship Award recipient, Professor Matthew McInnes.
Established in 2016, the University of Ottawa Open Scholarship Award recognizes faculty members and instructional staff who demonstrate excellence in supporting and practicing open scholarship. Open scholarship encompasses all aspects of open access, open data and open educational resources in both teaching and research.
This year’s winner is the first recipient of the revised $4,000 prize, co-funded by the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation and the Library. Supporting the institution’s commitment to advancing recommendations outlined in the uOttawa Open Science Roadmap, the revised award recognizes and encourages open science practices across campus.
Join us to meet Professor McInnes and learn more about his experience and commitment to open scholarship. The presentation will be followed by a discussion, as well as refreshments and snacks.
