Display: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 2025
Sep 30, 2025 — All day
Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, created in response to Action 80 of the 2015 Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s 94 Calls to Actions.
Description of the event
September 30th has also been recognized since 2013 as Orange Shirt Day to acknowledge the atrocities and suffering experienced by those who attended residential schools in Canada. We encourage staff, students, and faculty to wear orange in solidarity with Indigenous communities, to honour the survivors and their families, and remember the children that never came home.
The uOttawa Library offers many titles, both in print and online, on topics of residential schools, Truth and Reconciliation, as well as stories and experiences of Indigenous peoples. We have compiled some English and French resources to learn more.
Starting September 22, visit the display on the 1st floor of Morisset Library and explore and borrow collections curated by our staff.
