Canada-France Quantum Alliance (CAFQA) Workshop

The CAFQA network is pleased to announce its second workshop, to be held in Ottawa from Tuesday, May 21^st to Thursday, May 23^rd 2024, and hosted by uOttawa and NRC. The workshop will cover the latest developments achieved in both countries in the fields of:

• Quantum materials and circuits
• Quantum computing and simulation
• Quantum communications
• Quantum sensing and metrology
• Quantum basic science and quantum engineering

There are no registration fees and the conference will cover lunch expenses. The program will include 30-minute oral presentations, several poster sessions and opportunities for collaborative meetings. It will feature a visit to the National Research Council Canada including roundtable discussions and a lab tours. While the opportunity for talks is limited due to the broad scope of the conference, there will be ample opportunity for posters where colleagues can introduce their research to the CAFQA community.

The call for abstracts is now open. Please find here a template to prepare abstracts. The submission deadline is February 29. Please send your abstract in a pdf format to: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected].

Registration is open to CAFQA community members and prospective members only.

This workshop will be an in-person event. The number of in-person participants will be limited to 100 on a first-come first-serve basis. Registration is free but mandatory.

Accommodations

Participants are responsible for their own accommodation costs. They are invited to book their own accommodation and are advised to stay within walking distance of the events. The University of Ottawa campus is centrally located. Staying close to campus gives you access to downtown Ottawa's restaurants and activities.

For participants coming from France, we recommend taking Air France's direct Paris-Ottawa flight. You can also fly to Montréal (Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport) and take a bus from the airport to Ottawa with Orléans Express (2-hour trip).
