Description

In recent years, the rapid urbanization of our spaces has prompted more and more people to seek involvement in city development, a process generating both apprehension and enthusiasm around the world. As these different actors are establishing dialogue both on the local and global stage, the sustainability of the process is often at the heart of their concerns. This panel aims to open discussions on the environmental, social and cultural challenges of urbanization by bringing together diverse perspectives ranging from different backgrounds. We hope that by pooling these perspectives, we will be able to explore possible solutions to the most pressing issues facing our shared futures. Our guests will speak in French, with a bilingual question period.

Panelists

  • Khalil Habrih is a PhD candidate at the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on the transformation and regulation of urban spaces. His recent projects addressed the question of urban desire and the unequal distribution of leisure and pleasure in urban planning.
