Established in September 1981 at the University of Ottawa, the HRREC was a pioneer in Canada and North America. Over the past 45 years, the Centre has maintained a strong commitment to human rights research, outreach, training, and advocacy.
The HRREC operates on a roadmap that reflects its commitment to strengthening humanist and democratic values within Canadian society and around the world. By fostering a collaborative approach, the Centre focuses on key issues that align with the interests of its members, ensuring a direct transition from research to action.
