She contributed to the pre-conference workshop, Global South Perspectives on International Organizations. Co-hosted by the ISA’s Global South Caucus and International Organizations Section, the workshop explored how the Global South is conceptualized and how research contributes to the understanding of international organizations and global governance.
Christiana presented a work-in-progress paper titled Forging Pathways: A Comparative Analysis of IOM and AU's Approaches in Shaping Bilateral Labour Agreements (BLAs). The paper is part of her Ph.D. research and examines how the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the African Union (AU) influence the development of BLAs in African countries. It focuses on the intersection of labour migration, regional integration, and norm shaping.
The workshop fostered critical dialogue and collaboration among participants, offering valuable feedback and theoretical insights that will inform her ongoing research and contribution to a forthcoming special issue. The broader ISA conference also provided opportunities to engage with experts on topics such as migration diplomacy, the African Union, and international law.
Christiana thanked the HRREC for its financial support, which enabled her to participate in the workshop and the main conference. This experience greatly enriched her academic development and underscored the importance of interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches in global governance research.
