Eucharia Uranta-Okonkwo in Melbourne
Eucharia Uranta-Okonkwo, a student member of the Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC), attended the 2025 International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI), held at the University of Melbourne from February 10 to 14, 2025. The event brought together global education leaders to discuss innovations in education, leadership, and equity.

Eucharia received the Junior Scholar Award for her academic efforts, but also for the broader impact of her work on open pedagogies for refugee education. The award ceremony was an inspiring event that celebrated the contributions of early-career researchers committed to equity and innovation in education.

The conference also featured presentations on graduates' career paths, educational leadership, and inclusive approaches inspired by African philosophy. These exchanges allowed her to deepen her thinking and enrich her research.

She expressed deep gratitude to ICSEI for the recognition and to HRREC for the support that enabled her to participate. She noted that the experience was transformative, broadening her professional network and deepening her commitment to educational equity and advocacy.
