frustrated women

Details

Job searching can trigger stress, self-doubt, and overwhelm — especially in today’s competitive market. This interactive workshop will help students understand why the job search can feel so emotionally intense and offer practical, evidence-informed strategies to manage anxiety, build confidence, and stay grounded throughout the process.

Participants will learn:

  • Why job search anxiety happens (and why it’s normal)
  • Practical tools to calm the nervous system
  • Strategies to manage unhelpful thoughts and self-doubt
  • How to stay motivated without burning out
  • Ways to approach the job search with greater self-compassion

Presented by Cynthia Allan, Psychotherapist with Student Wellness Services at the University of Ottawa, this session offers a supportive, student-centered space to reflect, learn, and build practical skills for both career success and mental well-being.
