Ideas Lab: Sustainable Urban Development

Join the eHub Ideas Lab, in partnership with The Green Academy at Telfer, to explore innovative solutions for Sustainable Urban Development through interdisciplinary collaboration across uOttawa faculties. Over this two-day hackathon, you will work in teams to turn ideas into strategic recommendations and pitch them to industry experts in a final competition. This edition focuses on creating inclusive, resilient, and climate-smart cities aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, addressing challenges like clean energy, sustainable mobility, and responsible urban growth. All participants will receive an award of $325, and $1,500 in prizes will be awarded to winning teams for their outstanding solutions.
Eligibility
Students must complete a total of 16 hours of work on their project to complete the program and receive the final award of $325.
To enroll, you must:
- Be a registered student enrolled in any full-time or part-time undergraduate program at the University of Ottawa.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Participate in both days of the event to be eligible for the award.
- Complete the onboarding training to be eligible for the award.
- Fill out the evaluation form at the end of the program to be eligible to the award.
