AI in teaching
The Teaching and Learning Support Service (TLSS) is committed to enhancing the educational experience at uOttawa through innovative AI solutions. TLSS AI initiatives empower both students and faculty by providing cutting-edge tools and resources designed to support and elevate teaching and learning by:
- Offering an AI hub as a dedicated platform featuring resources, Forum discussions and updates on AI’s impact on higher education.
- Leveraging Microsoft Copilot as a main AI tool available to faculty for generating lesson plans, quizzes and personalized student
sreports. - A generative AI guide developed by uOttawa library on responsible use of generative AI, including tools, usage tips, and citation guidelines.

Workshops and training
TLSS is dedicated to equipping faculty and teaching assistants with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively integrate AI into their teaching practices. The workshops and training sessions are designed to provide practical strategies and insights:
- Faculty Training: Workshops on responsible AI use.
- Teaching Assistant Training: Online webinars offered at the start of fall and winter terms to equip TAs with effective teaching tools and strategies.
- Annual Symposium: “Perspective 2025” symposium focusing on AI in university teaching and learning.
