Doreen Hume, FCPA, FCA, LPA

Doreen is a senior Audit & Assurance Partner at Deloitte and a leader in the firm’s Public Sector Audit practice for the National Capital Region. With more than 30 years of public accounting experience, she brings deep expertise in governance, financial reporting, risk oversight, and regulatory compliance. She also serves as Deloitte’s National Leader for the Regulatory and Pan Canadian Health Care Mid Market Cluster. Fluently bilingual, Doreen has advised public sector organizations and pension plans for over 25 years, overseeing complex, high profile, and publicly sensitive engagements.

Doreen works closely with boards and senior leadership to strengthen financial oversight, enhance transparency, and manage financial reporting and governance risks. She is known for her ability to provide clear, practical advice on complex accounting and regulatory matters while fostering trusted, long term relationships with board members, management, and other key stakeholders.

She is widely recognized as a technical expert in not for profit financial reporting and is frequently consulted by professionals across Canada. Doreen is also regarded as a leading authority on pension matters in the National Capital Region.
