Dean Marc Charron
The Executive Committee of the Board of Governors of the University of Ottawa approved the appointment of Professor Marc Charron as Dean of the Faculty of Arts for a mandate beginning on July 1st, 2025, and ending on June 30, 2030. Professor Charron takes the torch from Dean Kevin Kee, who was in the position since 2015.

Professor Charron served as Interim Dean of the Faculty of Arts from January 1st to June 30th, 2024, after holding the position of Associate Vice-Provost, Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at the University. He also held the position of Vice-Dean, Academic Programs at the Faculty of Arts from 2018 to 2023. 

Marc Charron has been a professor at the University of Ottawa's School of Translation and Interpretation since 2007, where he served as Director of both the School’s Graduate and Undergraduate Studies Committees. His research interests include transcultural studies, comparative literature and the translated book market. Dr. Charron was also the recipient of the Faculty of Arts Teaching Excellence Award in 2014.
