" Successive U.K. prime ministers have seen their ratings fall at high velocities, and Sir Keir Starmer was no exception. He leaves office as Labour's shortest-serving prime minister amidst exceptionally low approval ratings. The reasons for this are many, including his tendency to reverse course on policy while also appointing problematic individuals to key roles. This resulted in no shortage of party turmoil throughout.

As Starmer remains in the caretaker role, the contest for his successor has began. Labour retains strong parliamentary majority, and a stronger leader is needed to consolidate the party before the next election."
