“A warmer and wetter climate driven by global warming can intensify cascading hazards, including glacier instability, flash floods, debris flows and landslides. Urgently strengthening geological-hazard monitoring and early-warning systems, particularly in deep mountain canyons, is essential to reduce the risks to communities and critical infrastructure.”
