Professor Habibi Roojin is a Senior Visiting Fellow of the United Nations University’s International Institute for Global Health. Her expertise bridges the fields of international law, health law and human rights, including examining how international law responds to emerging global health risks.
"This phase 1 clinical trial is an important initiative in the global effort to stem the spread of the Bundibugyo virus. But we have to remember that effective medical countermeasures are currently most needed in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). What remains unclear, however, is how Canada will contribute to the global effort to help DRC weather this crisis by ensuring access to an effective vaccine - if one is eventually developed."
