Barbara’s leadership shines through in her work on updating critical standard operating procedures for HF, gamma counting and I-125 handling, and in her development of new protocols for sealed source management. She has also introduced comprehensive training records, checklists and audit resolution reports, which have fostered accountability and continuous improvement. Her technical expertise is evident in her mastery of advanced gamma counting software and her successful decommissioning of the intermediate level laboratory spaces.
Beyond her technical expertise, Barbara plays a pivotal role in knowledge transfer. Through her training programs on radioactive materials for staff, graduate students and work-study participants, she ensures future generations are equipped with the skills and awareness needed to safely conduct research.
