You've been admitted! What's next?

To reserve your place in the program, you must formally accept your offer of admission.

Log into your uoZone account, under Admission file > Download your Offer > Respond “Yes” to your Offer. It is your responsibility to review the terms and conditions outlined in your offer of admission. Please note that your response is valid for both the offer of admission and admission scholarship, if applicable.
After you accept your offer, check that your personal information is correct, such as your current mailing address, your telephone number, your emergency contacts, etc. by accessing your uoZone account under Applications > Student Centre > Names > Addresses.

Don't forget to share the good news with family and friends!

It is essential to understand the requirements of your program before registering.

• You will be able to register for your courses through uoZone. But you must first understand your program of study. You are responsible for fulfilling your program requirements in order to graduate in a timely matter.
• Learn more about your program by consulting the University’s Catalogue, the official source of information on your graduate program and courses. It explains the basic structure of your program, including compulsory courses, optional courses and other requirements needed to graduate.
• You may also want to check your current academic requirements by accessing your uoZone account under Applications > My Academic Requirements. Click “Expand All”.

IMPORTANT: To avoid possible enrolment holds on your file, make sure you meet your admission conditions by the deadline stipulated on your offer (final official transcript, official proof of diploma, etc.).

Registration periods

Fall term: Enrolment starts in June. You will be emailed the date and time when you can first enrol about two weeks before enrollment opens. It is important to enrol as soon as the registration period opens to secure a spot in your courses.

Winter term: Enrolment also starts in June. Thus, you may enrol in Fall and Winter courses at the same time. If you are admitted for the Winter term, you will be able to register once you have accepted your offer of admission and met the conditions of admission.

Spring/ Summer term: Enrolment starts in March. Two weeks before enrolment opens, you will be emailed the date and time when you can first enrol.

Steps to register

Step 1: Plan your registration by gathering all essential information (important dates and deadlines, course timetable, program requirements, etc.)

Step 2: Make sure you understand your program requirements. It is your responsibility as a graduate student to enrol in all courses and activities required to graduate.

Step 3: Learn more on the enrolment process.

Step 4: Enrol in your courses by referring to the “How to enrol in a class” tutorial found in the Student Enrolment Guide, on the “Enrol" application page in uoZone.

Step 5: Check your academic requirements in your uoZone account and inform us by email ([email protected]) if they are not up-to-date.

You are a newly registered student at the University of Ottawa

Approximately 48 hours after you have registered, instructions on how to activate and access your uOttawa email will be sent to your personal email account (Gmail, Hotmail, etc.).

Be sure to consult your uOttawa email regularly as the University of Ottawa will contact your through your official @uOttawa.ca account.

You have been registered at the University of Ottawa in the past

If you have been registered at the University of Ottawa in the past, you generally keep the same @uOttawa email account. You can access your email through uoZone. If you experience any difficulties accessing your uOttawa email, contact the Service Desk at 613-562-5000.

Make sure you pay your tuition fees on time.

It is important to plan a budget in order to make sure that you can cover all the costs related to your university life. We encourage you to develop a financial plan that includes university costs and living costs.

• Tuition fees vary according to your program. You must pay your tuition fees by the date indicated in the important academic dates and deadlines. You can view your statement of account through uoZone.
• In planning your budget, you can consult this estimate of the costs you will have to cover.

Scholarships and financial aid opportunities

• You may be eligible to apply for online scholarships offered by the University of Ottawa, which is strongly committed to recognizing students for demonstrated academic excellence, community and school involvement and leadership.
• Depending on your program of study, you may also be eligible to apply for federal and provincial student awards and bursaries.
• Furthermore, if you apply to the Work Study Program, you will have a chance to gain valuable experience by working on campus part time.
