National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at the Faculty of Education
Sep 30, 2025 — 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Join us on September 30 for a meaningful gathering where we’ll come together to watch and reflect on stories that celebrate Indigenous history, voices, and resilience.
Overview
The Faculty of Education invites you to a special gathering where we will share stories, watch powerful films, and engage in meaningful conversation, to mark the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.
We will watch Stories Told are a Culture Shared and/or Anishinabe Algonquin Chief Tessouat, two documentaries that highlight Indigenous voices and histories. Stories Told are a Culture Shared features members of Kitigan Zibi and celebrates the role of storytelling in preserving culture and knowledge. Anishinabe Algonquin Chief Tessouat explores the life and legacy of Chief Tessouat, an influential Algonquin leader.
This event is an opportunity to honor the resilience, culture, and stories of Indigenous communities and to reflect on the important role of education in understanding and preserving these traditions.
Come and be part of this important dialogue.
