Brunsfield Centre

The Brunsfield Centre is a machine shop at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Engineering dedicated to hands-on learning, prototyping and manufacturing.

Sunday: Closed 
Monday: Noon to 8 p.m. 
Tuesday: Closed 
Wednesday: Noon to 8 p.m.

Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

How to access and use our machine shop

Become a CEED member

The Brunsfield Centre operates on a membership-based model. Become a CEED member to be granted access.

Self-serve space use

For approved and trained members. Come use the space to work on your own projects.

  • Faculty of Engineering students: No additional cost
  • uOttawa community (students, staff and faculty)
    • Day pass: $5
    • Semester pass: $25
  • Others (alumni and other community)
    • Day pass: $10
    • Semester pass: $40

Free consultations are available. Material is sold separately.

  • uOttawa community: $50/hour
  • Others: $100/hour

Shop use outside of regular hours (cost per head)

  • uOttawa community: $25/hour
  • Others: $50/hour

Space rental (with supervision)

  • uOttawa community
    • 4 to 10 people: $50/hour
    • 11 to 20 people: $75/hour
  • Others
    • 4 to 10 people: $200/hour
    • 11 to 20 people: $300/hour
