Located on the first floor of the STEM Complex, the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Engineering Design’s prototyping and manufacturing spaces provide students with state-of-the-art equipment and new opportunities to design, build and test prototypes.

Eight prototyping and manufacturing spaces

The Centre for Entrepreneurship and Engineering Design’s eight prototyping and manufacturing spaces have been designed with innovation and collaboration in mind. Whether you’re looking to acquire new skills, build your first — or 10th — prototype or meet with colleagues to work on your first business venture, you’ll find something for you.

All of our equipment and facilities are available to uOttawa students and staff of any faculty. Some spaces are also open to the community.

CEED facilities are run by students and recent alumni, making them ideal for you to experiment and seek mentorship. We’re a solution-driven team ready to foster creativity and support you in your endeavours.

Each space has its own rules, schedule and equipment. Visit one or all of our spaces, depending on your needs.

Build in our workspaces

Build and test your prototypes. During opening hours, equipment is available for free, on a first come, first served basis. You’ll always find a staff member to guide you in your project, whether it’s for school, research or just for fun.

Collaborate in our team spaces

Learn and share your ideas with passionate students from multiple departments and faculties. Our team spaces are built with collaboration and multidisciplinary in mind, as you bring your ideas to life.

Some spaces require you to join certain student groups or programs. Join a competitive team to gain access to the John McEntyre Team Space and the Sandbox. Participate in the MakerLaunch startup accelerator to use its facility.
