Sandbox

The Sandbox provides a creative and collaborative space for Faculty of Engineering students involved in small projects, pre-professional competitions and entrepreneurial endeavours.

A collaborative space for entrepreneurs and engineering teams

The Sandbox is a community space for engineering projects and startups. It provides you with a dedicated space to work on your projects and provides you with  access to resources and equipment you may need:

  • Group meeting area
  • Presentation equipment
  • Design stations
  • Electrical workstations
  • Tool bench

Members of the Sandbox can also use a storage unit for their projects and access the space any time the building is open.

Who can use the space?

A Sandbox project.

Teams must request membership to access the Sandbox.

To be eligible for Sandbox membership, your team must:

  • Consist of a majority of Faculty of Engineering students
  • Be an engineering design team or a technology startup/entrepreneurial team

Sandbox teams do not need to participate in a competition.

Opportunities for students

By joining a team or creating a new one, you will expand your knowledge beyond the classroom and get practical hands-on experience that all employers want. Sandbox team members also have an opportunity to network with mentors, industry professionals, and other students while having lots of fun.
