To work during:

• Fall term: August 1 to October 13, 2026
• Winter term: December 1, 2026 to February 11, 2027
• Spring/Summer term: March 18 to June 14, 2027

More than 1,600 positions are available in faculties and services throughout the year, including the spring-summer, fall, and winter terms. With our variety of jobs, you can usually find a position related to your field of study. Work-study supervisors know your course schedule and are able to work around it. Plus, you're on campus, so you're never too far from your classes.

Some jobs available on campus:

• Student ambassador
• Student mentor
• Research assistant
• Assistant editor
• Assistant fundraising officer
• Theatre costume assistant

Please note that you can only hold one Work-Study Program position at a time.

You must meet these general criteria:

• Demonstrate financial need by completing the University of Ottawa’s financial questionnaire through the Work-Study Navigator
• Maintain satisfactory academic standing
• Pay your tuition fees to the University of Ottawa

You must also meet these specific criteria:

For Fall or Winter term (part-time position):

• Be enrolled in at least nine units of courses as an undergraduate student or be enrolled full time as a graduate student, at the University of Ottawa, for the term.
• For students living with a disability: be enrolled in at least six units (undergraduates) or part time (graduates) for the term.

For Spring-Summer term (full-time position):

• Have been enrolled in at least nine units of courses as an undergraduate student or have been enrolled full time as a graduate student, at the University of Ottawa, for the preceding Winter term, and be returning to the University of Ottawa for the following Fall term.
• For students living with a disability: be enrolled in at least six units (undergraduates) or part time (graduates) for the preceding Winter term.

Co-op program students

Fall/Winter (co-op)

• You can work part time during your Fall and Winter study terms through the Work-Study Program if you meet the eligibility criteria above. You must complete the financial questionnaire through uOzone and apply to the Work Study Program.

Summer (co-op)

• You can apply for summer full time jobs in the Work-Study Navigator, if, you were enrolled in at least 9 credits (undergraduate) or full-time (graduate) at the University of Ottawa during the previous winter term and continue your studies at the University of Ottawa the following fall term. You must complete the extended version of the financial questionnaire through uOzone and apply to the Work Study Program.
• However, if you select a Work-Study position, you must check with the Co-op Office to ensure that this position meets the requirements of a co-op work term.

Applying for the Work-Study Program and searching for available Work-Study positions is quick and simple using the Work-Study Navigator.

To apply for the WSP you must:

1. Log in to uoZone.
2. Under the Finances and Jobs tab, locate the Quick Links section and click Work-Study Navigator.
3. Complete the Financial Questionnaire.
4. Ensure that you check the box confirming: "I have read and accepted the conditions regarding the use of this questionnaire."
5. Click Create Current for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Check your application status in the Work-Study Navigator after approximately 48 hours.

If accepted:

• Build your résumé in the Work-Study Navigator.
• Browse available job postings and apply for positions that interest you.
• Employers will contact students directly if they meet the job requirements.
• Once matched with a position, review and accept your employment contract in your Term History.

NOTE: You can only be matched to one work study position per term.

All contracts whose job duties include research tasks as defined in Article 4.3.5 of the CUPE 2626 collective agreement are subject to that collective agreement.
