Our services

The Global Partnerships team supports the University of Ottawa in the development of its international collaborations.  We serve as the bridge between the uOttawa community and its existing and potential partners around the world. Our team members are specialists in international business development, multilingual communication, intercultural competencies, and diplomatic protocol. We are travelers, facilitators, and bridge-builders.

Our primary service offerings include:

  • Initiating, developing, and curating international partnerships for uOttawa.
  • Providing international region-specific expertise to faculties and centers at uOttawa.
  • Serving as University liaisons to with the diplomatic community both in Canada and abroad.
  • Disseminating information on international funding opportunities  
  • Offering guidance on protocol for events and ceremonies.
  • Leading on strategic international connectivity.

Dr. Connell Raymond Monette

Dr. Connell Raymond Monette

Dr. Connell Monette is a distinguished academic, researcher and university executive dedicated to fostering global collaboration. Fluent in English, French and Moroccan Arabic, he excels in fostering international partnerships that enhance educational and cultural exchanges.

Prior to joining the University of Ottawa, he held executive and teaching roles at Al Akhawayn University and American Academy Casablanca in Morocco, as well as the University of Toronto.

Dr.  Monette holds a BA in classical studies from the University of Ottawa and an MA and PhD in medieval studies, from the University of Toronto.
