The John McEntyre Team Space (JMTS) is a collaborative environment designed to support competitive engineering teams working on large-scale projects, like race cars, robots, rockets and concrete toboggans.

A workshop for competitive engineering teams

Our space allows competitive engineering teams to build and test their projects. It’s divided into different work bays, one for each team, allowing you to work and store your tools in a dedicated area.

Located across from the Brunsfield Centre, the space gives teams easy access to manufacturing equipment and tools. It also contains a composites room and a paint and sanding booth.

The space allows our student teams to explore new technological ideas, develop practical skills and bring innovative concepts to life.

Who can use the space

Two students working on a rover.

Use of the space is restricted to members of engineering competitive teams.

All students are invited to participate in a team. This includes students from any faculty and year of study and, at times, even high school and college students. Teams provide opportunities to collaborate with fellow students from diverse backgrounds and develop multidisciplinary skills working alongside students from different programs.

Most teams recruit new members in early September, but some accept applications year-round or recruit again in January. See each team’s recruitment form for details.
