Welcome to the Lost and Found, now managed by the Office of Campus Sustainability! Our aim is to reunite belongings with their owners, thus reducing the need to purchase new items.

Lost and found office

If you have lost an item

Check the Lost and Found Facebook page to see if your item has been catalogued and posted. If you don’t see it, send us an email or Facebook message to enquire.

To reclaim your item, check our hours of operation and visit us in person. Be sure to bring an ID card. You will need to describe your item and specify the approximate time and place it was lost.

If you have found an item

Please take lost items to our Lost and Found Office, which is located in Room 02A of the University Centre. You can hand the item to one of our clerks when the office is open, or place it in the 24/7 accessible office drop box, or use intra-mail to send it to us at the address below. Please identify the item along with when and where it was found. Our staff will take steps to contact the owner.

Items found at Roger-Guindon Hall or Lees Campus should be sent to the Protection Office inside each building, from which the items will be sent to our Lost and Found Office.

Operations

We hold items for two months from the date they are catalogued by our clerks. Afterwards, the items are brought to the Free Store to be added to the circular economy.

The types of items we keep include books, clothing, keys, electronic accessories, sporting equipment, etc. We do not accept food or health/hygienic items. Laptops and other valuable items should be brought to Protection Services.

If you have lost your uOttawa card, you can first contact us. If someone hasn’t turned it in to us, you can check with the uOttawa Card Service.
