Professor Abdolmajid Mohammadian is a professional civil engineer (P.Eng.) who has been a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Ottawa since 2018. He specializes in hydro-environmental problems. He earned his PhD at Laval University and has conducted research at MIT, focusing on the numerical simulation of hydrodynamic systems, such as shallow-water flows. His areas of research include numerical simulation of water bodies and the experimental and numerical modeling of marine outfall systems. He uses OpenFOAM for numerical simulations and works with laser-induced fluorescence and particle image velocimetry for laboratory studies. He is a former chair of the IAHR-IWA Joint Committee on Marine Outfall Systems.
