Biography

Dr. Clark is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba and the chair holder of the NSERC / Manitoba Hydro Industrial Research Chair in River Ice Engineering. As part of this IRC, Dr. Clark’s research program involves a considerable amount of field work throughout Manitoba, where his team monitors ice processes on the Assiniboine, Dauphin, Nelson and Red Rivers. The field work component is complemented by laboratory testing and numerical modelling. His past research experience has involved fish passage in culverts, field monitoring of the Delta and Netley-Libau Marshes, as well as physical hydraulic modelling.

Dr. Clark has taught Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulics, Hydrology, and Numerical Methods in the undergraduate program, as well as River Ice Engineering and Advanced Hydraulics at the graduate level. He has served on the Manitoba Board of Directors of the Canadian Water Resources Association for many years, and is actively involved in the Canadian Society of Civil Engineering.
