Teenagers in the Cyber Range during a cybersecurity activity.

Event details

The CyberQuest event is designed to help students better understand the dangers they may face online and learn about the many tools available to be able to better defend themselves. They will learn this through two specialized workshops that put students through real life scenarios, and apply their coding and cybersecurity knowledge in realistic, defensive simulations. The workshops are described below.

Workshops

Workshop One: Cyberattack Simulation in the uOttawa-IBM Cyber Range

Students will step inside the uOttawa IBM Cyber Range, a state of the art lab where they will be immersed in a realistic cyberattack simulation designed to raise awareness of cybersecurity threats and teach strategies for defending against them.

Beginner-level coding experience required.

Workshop Two: Smart Home: Hack it, Secure it!

In this interactive session, students will explore the world of smart homes while learning about good and bad cybersecurity practices. This workshop blends practical digital‑safety skills with hands‑on tech exploration.
