Biography

Medhat Elsayed is a wireless communications and artificial intelligence researcher and practitioner whose work bridges the gap between cutting-edge academic research and large-scale industrial deployment. His expertise spans AI-enabled wireless networks, adversarial machine learning, intent-driven networking, generative AI and next-generation 6G systems.

He currently holds IEEE (SMIEEE) senior member designation and is based in Ottawa, Canada, where he works at Ericsson, contributing to the design and development of advanced AI-driven radio access network solutions. He also holds an adjunct professorship at the University of Ottawa, supporting research and graduate training at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Medhat Elsayed earned his BSc and MSc degrees at Cairo University, Egypt, and his PhD in electrical engineering at the University of Ottawa.  

His research interests include AI-enabled wireless networks, adversarial machine learning, intent-driven networks, large language models and generative AI, and 6G systems.  

Across his academic and industrial roles, Medhat Elsayed works at the intersection of theoretical AI advances and their practical applications in next-generation wireless infrastructure, contributing to more intelligent, efficient and adaptive communication systems at a global scale.
