Peng Sun (SMIEEE) is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Data Science at Duke Kunshan University. Before joining DKU, he worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the PARADISE Research Laboratory, University of Ottawa, Canada. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Ottawa, Canada, in 2016 and his M.Sc. degree from Lakehead University, Canada, in 2010. All in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Soochow University, China, in 2008. His current research interests include Intelligent Transportation Systems, Internet-of-Vehicles, cross-layer optimization and design, coverage and connectivity planning, and network survivability. Currently, he serves as an Associate Editor for ACM Computing Surveys, an editor for ACM International Conference Proceeding Series (ICPS), and a guest editor for Elsevier Computer Communication and Springer/Nature Journal of Supercomputing. He is also an active reviewer for many top-tier journals, e.g., IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, Elsevier Ad Hoc Networks, ACM Computing Survey, etc. He also served as Technical Program Committee Co-chair/member in many well-known conferences, e.g., IEEE PIMRC’23, ICDCS’22, ACM MSWiM'17~25, IEEE ICC'20~25, etc. His research in IoV-ITS has earned him the Award of Jiangsu Province 333 Talent Program 2024, Elsevier/Stanford’s Top 2% Scientist for the year 2023, Kunshan Shortage Talent Award 2022, ACM SIGSIM Rising Star Award 2021, and IEEE Senior Membership from 2020 to 2024. His research papers have been recognized as the Top 2% Highly Cited Papers by Clarivate Web of Science, receiving the INSAI 2024 Best Paper Award, ACM MSWiM Best Paper Nomination Award 2022, and the IEEE GLOBECOM Best Paper Award 2019. Additionally, one of his articles has been spotlighted as one of the spotlight articles published in all IEEE Transactions as highlighted in the IEEE Computer in 2019.
