Celebrating the IRLRC: Looking back & looking forward

Conceived in 2007 and launched in 2009, the Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory on the Rights of the Child (IRLRC) represents over 15 years of work and collaboration between university researchers and other partners representing a wide range of disciplines and research areas around children's rights. As the IRLRC enters a new chapter as a network of researchers, it is time to take stock of the lab's work and discuss opportunities for the future.

Mona Paré, Professor at the Faculty of Law (Civil Law Section) and Director of the IRLRC, will present the evolution of this laboratory over the years, as well as highlights of initiatives undertaken by the IRLRC and its members.

This presentation will be followed by a more forward-looking part with a lecture by Professor Karl Hanson of the University of Geneva and Director of the Centre for Children's Rights Studies, who will discuss the importance of a critical approach in this interdisciplinary field of research and present emerging themes in the area of children's rights.

  • 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Bimodal presentations on Zoom followed by a discussion
  • 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. | Cocktail lunch for those attending in person (Fauteux Hall | FTX202)
