Dr. James Harden conducts research on biological physics, biomaterials, and soft condensed matter using of combination of computational, experimental, and theoretical methods. The research in biological physics is focused on applying polymer physics concepts to problems in biomolecular assemblies and cell mechanics. The research on biomaterials and soft matter explores the connection between the structural and dynamical behavior of soft nanostructured materials and the molecular properties of their constituents.
