Information about the Centre on Public Management and Policy program cancellation and payment terms.

Payment policy:

The Centre on Public Management and Policy (CPMP) is committed to providing payment terms that are fair, reasonable, and ensure program viability. The following payment policy applies to all registrations received for CPMP programs:

  1. The obligation to pay the program fee is incurred at the time of the formal acceptance into the program by the program Director. The recommendations and nominations from senior leaders in the respective organizations constitute a formal commitment by the sponsoring organization to pay the full program fee as outlined by this policy.
  2. Participants are responsible for working with their sponsoring organizations prior to the first program session to determine their sponsoring organizations requirements for payment of fees.
  3. Program fees cover tuition, instructional materials, on-site meals for Ottawa sessions, as well as coaching, mentoring, and/or feedback. For programs with study tours, participants and their organizations must cover participants' travel and accommodation costs for study tours, as well as travel related to any sessions outside Ottawa. Participants residing outside of the National Capital Region (NCR) will also be responsible for covering travel and accommodation costs related to attending sessions in the NCR if they choose to attend in person.
  4. Program fees, as posted on the CPMP website by June 1 prior to the beginning of the CPMP academic (September -June) year, will be reviewed annually to ensure ongoing viability of the program.
  5. Invoices for the program will be sent after the first program session.
  6. Payment is due by April 30 of the academic year in which the invoice was issued.
  7. Payments that are not received on time may be subject to a late payment administrative fee of $60 plus interest at the prime rate of the National Bank of Canada plus 9% on all outstanding amounts.
  8. Any requests for exceptions to this policy must be submitted in writing to [email protected]

Payment methods:

Payment for CPMP programs can be made through the following methods:

  1. Payment by Cheque:
    1. Cheques must be made payable to the University of Ottawa.
    2. Cheques must include the invoice reference number and be mailed to Odell House at 180 Waller St. South, Ottawa, ON K1N 9B9.
  1. Payment by Direct Deposit:
    1. Payments can be made by direct deposit at the following email address: [email protected].
    2. The direct deposit must include the invoice reference number.

Cancellation policy:

  1. Cancellations or deferrals to the program are accepted with no penalty up to 30 calendar days before the first day of the program.
  2. For programs spanning one academic year, any cancellation requests received:
    1. 30 calendar days before or 10 calendar days after the first day of the program will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the program cost.
    2. Within 10 calendar days after the first day of the program will incur fees equal to the full cost of the program. 
  3. For programs spanning two academic years, any cancellation received:
    1. 30 calendar days before or 10 calendar days after the first day of the program will incur a cancellation fee of 25% of the full cost of the program.
    2. 10 calendar days after the first day of the program and at any point before July 1 of the first academic year of the program will incur fees equal to 50% of the full cost of the program.
    3. on or after July 1 of the first academic year of the program will incur fees equal to the full cost of the program.
  4. For all programs, a deferral to the next offering of the program may be considered on a case-by-case basis without penalty.
  5. In the event of participant withdrawal from a program, subject to approval, cancellation fees may be waived if the participant’s organization provides a suitable replacement.

Exceptions to this policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected].

CPMP reserves the right to:

  • Cancel a program due to low registration or unforeseen circumstances. In these situations, a full refund will be issued to registered participants, who will also have the option to defer their registration to the next offering of the program.
  • Make changes to the cancellation and payment policies without notice.
