Each year, a theme is selected by an organizing committee made up of students, faculty members, and community representatives. Based on this theme, the event features conferences, panel discussions, training workshops, and various other activities.

Description

The Social Work Day, taking place on March 19, 2025, at the University of Ottawa, invites participants to explore new ways of intervening. Through immersive workshops, attendees will discover how creative approaches can enrich social work and open new perspectives:

Playback Theatre – When personal stories come to life on stage, creating a space for expression and shared experiences.
Creative Journaling – A method combining writing and drawing to encourage introspection and communication.
Dance Therapy – Using movement as a tool for well-being, emotional exploration, and deeper connections with oneself and others.
Sandplay Therapy – A symbolic and playful approach that taps into the subconscious, offering an alternative way to support individuals.
