Both of our programs calculate your GPA using your last two years of full-time studies or your last 60 credits. The minimum GPA required is 8.0 (A- or 80%).
The admission averages are calculated according to guidelines established by the University of Ottawa. The University of Ottawa uses reference tools such as, but not limited to, AACRAO EDGE, OURA GRADUATE STUDY GUIDE, SCHOLARO, ENIC-NARIC, as well as descriptive documents from government agencies or sources to establish equivalencies.
The final grades of the 20 most recent one-term university courses* are taken into account. The value of the units associated with the course is taken into consideration in the calculation of the average. The term “unit” is equivalent to “credit” at the University of Ottawa.
* This is approximately equal to two years of full-time study or 60 units at the University of Ottawa or 20 one-term courses valued at 3 units each.
The result of the average calculation is then transposed to the uOttawa grading scale to obtain an equivalent average.
For the September 2026 admission cycle, the average GPA of students entering was 8.3 for Psychology and 8.9 for Clinical Psychology.
