Definition

Students are required to take four supplementary clinical courses. Supplementary clinical courses are courses taught by a licensed psychologist with a substantial content that is pertinent to the delivery of psychological services (i.e., activities which fall within Psychology's legislatively defined scope of practice)..

Exceptions

Exceptions may be granted for certain courses that are pertinent to the student's program but that do not meet the criteria of being taught by a licensed psychologist or that are not directly pertinent to the delivery of psychological services. Students wishing to request an exception must submit a request in writing to the Clinical Program Committee explaining the relevance of the course to their program of study.

Limit on number of exceptions

Each student is permitted to request only one exception during their program of study. Thus, all students are required to complete at least four supplementary clinical courses taught by a licensed psychologist and directly pertinent to the delivery of psychological services. Students are permitted to take additional courses beyond the minimum program requirement.
