Helping students
Access to post-secondary education can and should be the great equalizer for Canada, and nowhere is this more evident than at the University of Ottawa. Students who are the first in their families to attend university make up a significant portion of our graduating classes, and we boast the highest enrolment of aboriginal students among all Ontario universities.

Lego your genes in the bioGARAGE: Cutting-edge science for everyone
Students from all disciplines can use the latest genetic technology in a new campus hub that will allow them to experiment, explore and design their own curiosity-driven research projects.

The Power of Sport
It takes hard work, careful planning and resources to build teams that inspire pride. Over the past decade, the University has laid the foundation for competitive varsity sport programs.

Who’s Minding the Machines?
Our community is devastated by the passing of Dr. Ian R. Kerr, Canada Research Chair in Ethics, Law and Technology at the University of Ottawa. To honour his memory, we have established the Ian R. Kerr Memorial Fund, which will continue his remarkable legacy by supporting students, innovative programming, and cutting-edge research.

Women Empowerment “WE” in Sport Initiative
Student-athletes on the Gee-Gees women’s varsity sport teams have made history time and time again, and as we look forward, we want to build on that success in exciting new ways.
