Access to post-secondary education can and should be the great equalizer for Canada, and nowhere is this more evident than at the University of Ottawa. Students who are the first in their families to attend university make up a significant portion of our graduating classes, and we boast the highest enrolment of aboriginal students among all Ontario universities.

Lego your genes in the bioGARAGE: Cutting-edge science for everyone

Students from all disciplines can use the latest genetic technology in a new campus hub that will allow them to experiment, explore and design their own curiosity-driven research projects.

Start-Up Garage

Selected students have 3-months to get their business off the ground and be their own boss. Applications are reviewed and ranked, and the top candidates are invited to pitch their business. Startup Garage runs from June to August and offers space, mentorship, formal training, support and cash to for students to launch their companies.

Our community is devastated by the passing of Dr. Ian R. Kerr, Canada Research Chair in Ethics, Law and Technology at the University of Ottawa. To honour his memory, we have established the Ian R. Kerr Memorial Fund, which will continue his remarkable legacy by supporting students, innovative programming, and cutting-edge research.
