September 30th has also been recognized since 2013 as Orange Shirt Day to acknowledge the atrocities and suffering experienced by those who attended residential schools in Canada. We encourage staff, students, and faculty to wear orange in solidarity with Indigenous communities, to honour the survivors and their families, and to remember the children who never came home.
