Dr. Alexandra Mogyoros is an Associate Member of the University of Ottawa Centre for Law, Technology and Society and an Assistant Professor within the Faculty of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University.

Dr. Alexandra Mogyoros is a leading expert in trademark law and is primarily researching at the intersection of brands, trust, intellectual property and expression.

Dr. Mogyoros frequently consults with governments, governmental organizations, and non-profit public interest organizations on intellectual property policy, law and technology, constitutional law, and freedom of information.

She completed her JD from the University of Ottawa and is a member of the Ontario bar. Dr. Mogyoros has a BCL degree with Distinction from the University of Oxford at St. Hugh’s College and completed her DPhil in Intellectual Property Law at St. Peter’s College, University of Oxford. Her doctoral research focused on certifying trademarks, such as sustainability logos and other ethical signalling marks, and was supported by a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship and a Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarship.

Prior to joining Toronto Metropolitan University, Dr. Mogyoros held research positions and fellowships at the universities of Toronto, Ottawa, Edinburgh, Cape Town, and Oxford, and clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada.
