Position: Camp Counselor
Organization: University of Ottawa - Outreach Office
Location: uOttawa Main Campus
Start date and duration: The camp will run for 6 weeks, June 29 to August 8. However mandatory pre-camp training will be given at the beginning of the camp, from June 23 to June 27.
Hourly rate: $18 to $20

What is Destination Clic and Explore?
Destination Clic is a summer program designed to help young Francophones, outside of Quebec, develop a sense of belonging and identify with their Francophone community in Canada and abroad.
Explore is an intensive immersion program offered in the spring and summer. It is an opportunity to learn one of Canada's official languages or to perfect it while traveling in a region of Canada.

Key responsibilities
As a camp counselor, you will have the opportunity to use your creativity and have fun leading your own group of youths by:
- Managing and providing safe supervision to a group of students ranging from 13 to 15
- Planning animation activities
- Creating trusting relationships and lasting memories with them through thematic days, outings and special events
Essential qualifications
- Proficiency in French at an intermediate or advanced level or be part of a French immersion program.
- Dynamic and energetic
- Experience working in day camps (an asset)
Condition of employment
- Canadian citizenship or documents indicating legal ability to work in Canada
- Police Record Check: Vulnerable Sector Check
- First Aid & CPR
