Don't throw out your old access card!

During the phased rollout, keep both your old card/FOB and your new uOttawa card. Some buildings still require the old card. If you access multiple locations, you may need both.

Pro tip: When swiping your new card, be careful not to stack it on top of your old card.  This will interfere with the reader!

Prepare for cutover

Watch for signage and notifications in your building announcing the transition. Be prepared to use your new uOttawa card at upgraded readers, and report any access issues immediately to your Facility Manager

Cutover schedule

The upgrade will be implemented in phases across campus. Buildings will transition to the new system gradually to minimize disruption. If you don't see your building listed in the 2026 check out the 2027 list.

As buildings are completed, new buildings will be scheduled. Check back regularly for updates on when your building will transition to the new system.
