A bright star shines prominently in a clear night sky filled with smaller stars above a faint blue horizon.
Thanks to the commitment of the IT teams on campus, the initiatives are progressing well. The goal is clear: to deliver initial tangible outcomes for fall 2025.

This progress reflects a strong capacity for adaptation. Challenges have been transformed into opportunities to rethink our approaches and innovate—through scope adjustments, phased deliveries, and coordinated solutions. The teams have demonstrated agility, and tangible results are emerging, reinforcing confidence in the initiative’s trajectory all within the context of executing multiple projects in parallel alongside the commitment to Polaris IT.

The current priority is to deliver the first phase of the projects. Five of them require one phase, enabling faster implementation and accelerated value creation.

Positive outcomes are beginning to take shape. The opening hours of in-person support services are now standardized across all IT teams, improving the consistency and accessibility of support. More concrete improvements are expected this fall: request handling will become more streamlined, and response times will be reduced, thanks to a new collaborative process in the Apple Centre of Excellence and the self-service initiative. Classroom support will also be strengthened through a unified approach made possible by a dedicated Centre of Excellence. A collaborative framework now enables faculties to work together on shared projects, while a structured IT service catalog is being developed to better showcase the available offerings. Finally, an ambitious proposal for managing the computer lifecycle is in development, with a long-term organizational vision.

The impact of Polaris IT will be visible through several concrete actions. For example, classroom support across the university will come under the responsibility of its Centre of Excellence, to ensure rapid and proactive issue resolution. Thanks to the self-service initiative, it is expected that in the coming years, over 40% of common requests will be resolved without human intervention, thereby freeing up valuable time for the support teams.

Polaris IT is more than just a collection of projects: it is a collective transformation, driven by the intelligence, commitment, and collaboration of an entire community.
