Work on campus!
There are more than 1,700 job opportunities in our student services and faculties. You can usually find a position related to your field of study and skill set. Make money, get work experience and minimize travel time between class and work. It’s a great way to build a schedule that lets you prioritize your studies. You’ll also have a resumé that wows employers by the time you graduate.
Work-Study Program
To apply for the Work-Study Program, access the Work Study Navigator through uoZone. You must demonstrate financial need by completing the financial questionnaire.
For part-time positions this Fall or Winter, students must:
• Be enrolled in at least nine units of courses as an undergraduate student, or be enrolled full-time as a graduate student, at the University of Ottawa for the term.
• Students living with a disability must be enrolled in at least six units (undergraduate students) or part-time (graduate students) for the term.
Work in residence
If you’d like to give students the safe, rewarding residence experience they need to thrive personally and academically, working in residence might be for you! Whether you’d like to help foster a sense of belonging and community or are passionate about residence safety and lending a helping hand where needed, working in residence is sure to be a win-win situation.
Work with Recreation
Do you have a passion for fitness and well-being? Working with Recreation might be for you! Support programming and activities, while promoting the Gee-Gees brand and playing a vital role in instilling uOttawa pride. Part-time positions include intramural referees, personal trainers, lifeguards, fitness attendants and more.
Varsity Sports
Join the Gee-Gees team! Help with select Gee-Gees home football, soccer, rugby, hockey, volleyball and basketball varsity events and more. Positions include social media interns, announcers and event staff. You could even be the next mascot! The main hiring period is between July 1 and August 15, but we accept applicants year-round.
Student Assistantship opportunities
Teaching Assistant (TA) and Research Assistant (RA) positions play an important role at the University of Ottawa. In a classroom or in a research lab, you could perform a variety of tasks, such as teaching assistance, correcting, monitoring labs, conducting discussion groups, reviewing literature, collecting and analyzing data, developing and conducting experiments and so much more!
